Lake Nakuru Lodge is about two hours away from Nairobi, through some of the most exciting scenery to be seen anywhere in Africa.
The 156 km Nairobi-Nakuru roads gives you an unrivalled view of the majestic Great Rift Valley, winding through a series of lakes and forested uplands all the way to the bustling market town of Nakuru. The views are equally impressive if you use a charter aircraft for the 25-minute flight to Lake Nakuru National Park airstrip.
The lodge, situated in the ecological niche of Lake Nakuru National Park, blends in well with its surroundings. So much so that animals often browse peacefully close to the (fenced) lodge, giving you plenty of opportunity to observe them close-up.

68 rooms and cottages are nestled away in the lush flower garden behind the main building; they are all well furnished with private bathrooms and verandas offering panoramic views of either the gardens or the lake.
The Matarakwa restaurant offers excellent buffet cuisine and overlooks the park, providing an opportunity to spot more wildlife while enjoying your lunch or dinner. Have your coffee on the outside terrace which is surrounded by tropical plants and frequently visited by exotic birds.
After a day watching game, wash off the dust of the bush and refresh yourself in the enticing cool of the swimming pool. The Rhino Paddock Cocktail Bar overlooking the lake makes a nice venue for sundowners, while after dinner the spacious Mama Nikki Bar is the place to gather for the evening.
Evening entertainment is interesting and varied and ranges from slide shows and expert talks to video showings of nature documentaries. The lodge also offers baby-sitting services, a beauty & hair saloon, a gift shop for all of those souvenirs and modern communication facilities.
In the park, Baboon Cliff, next to Honeymoon Hill, is an absolutely fabulous lookout point and you should be sure to stop there on your outings.
Lake Nakuru Lodge is actively committed to maintain, promote and enhance the famous 'Ramsar' wetland conservation sites of Lakes Nakuru and Elementaita and helps by subscribing to eco-tourism policies like keeping pollution to a minimum and planting indigenous trees to maintain the natural integrity to flora and fauna.
