Serena Mara Lodge

Serena Mara LodgeThe lodges design inspiration comes from the traditional Masai homestead, composed of domed mud huts encircled to form a "Boma" or cluster of huts. The result is a modern yet wonderfully traditional looking lodge blending in with the surroundings and offering truly spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

The décor also draws on a vibrant colour-palette of sun-burst colours, embellished by a selection of Masai art to create the look and feel of a traditional bush encampment.
Serena Mara Lodge - room
Accommodation at Serena Mara Lodge comprises of 74 individual rooms with private balconies looking out towards the wildlife-rich plains. The rooms are compact yet comfortable and spacious enough due to their thoughtful design. Interiors draw heavily from local influences, with rooms individually styled in exuberant bush colours. So that you can enjoy uninterrupted views the rooms are set next to each other giving you front-seat views of the endless Kenyan horizon.

Your evening starts with a sumptuous dinner of international cuisine- buffets and barbecues are served alongside authentic African dishes in the main dining room which is spectacularly decorated in three large domes and three small ones resembling enlarged Masai Manyattas. If you chose to dinner (and breakfast) can also be served al-fresco style on the terrace overlooking the waterhole.

For your after dinner drinks move on to the full-service lounge and bar where you can also enjoy the entertainment including musicians, Masai dancers, wildlife films and talks given by a resident naturalist.
Serena Mara Lodge - poolThe lodge also has a spectacularly set outdoor swimming pool, overlooking the Mara plains, with chairs and towels where you can enjoy a lazy day or a refreshing dip to wash off the dust after your game drives or nature walks.

The friendly staff also host a range of other activities- whether enjoying a champagne picnic in the bush, sundowners by the river, bush walks with expert naturalists, visits to the surrounding villages or watching the wildebeest migration from the spectacularly located swimming pool, there is plenty to compliment the two daily drives into the most wildlife rich area of the reserve.
